Customer Experience (Cx) programme
Overview

The University of Pretoria is committed to embedding customer experience (Cx) values and principles across the institution to create a seamless, student- and stakeholder-centric environment. This initiative includes institution-wide Cx training for staff, real-time monitoring and measurement of customer experience and interactions, and a structured change management and awareness campaign. Through these initiatives, we aim to enhance service delivery, foster a culture of excellence, and continuously improve experiences for all members of the UP community.

Digital literacy audit
Overview

The Digital Literacy Audit Project aims to assess and enhance digital competency across the University of Pretoria. A Digital Literacy Tool (DLT) has been developed to evaluate the digital proficiency of both staff and students, ensuring they are equipped for a rapidly evolving digital landscape. Institutional-wide assessments for staff have been completed, with student assessments planned for the next phase. A change management and awareness campaign is underway to drive adoption, with future plans for commercialising the tool to extend its impact beyond UP.

FutureFit programme
Overview

The FutureFit Programme is an innovative initiative aimed at equipping UP staff—and potentially students—with essential digital skills and competencies to thrive in a rapidly evolving digital landscape. Currently in development, the programme includes a pilot lab focused on the automation and optimisation of business processes to assess interest and refine its offerings. Ongoing change management and awareness campaigns will support its rollout, leading up to the official launch. Future plans include the commercialisation of the programme to extend its impact beyond the university.

Guideline for ethical governance of digital technology at UP
Overview

The University of Pretoria is committed to responsible and ethical digital transformation. To support this, a comprehensive guideline for the ethical governance of digital technology has been developed. This document outlines principles and best practices to ensure transparency, accountability, and responsible innovation. Ongoing efforts focus on change management, stakeholder buy-in, and final approval from relevant university structures. Idea Management System
Overview

The Idea Management System (IMS) is a key digital transformation initiative designed to foster innovation, collaboration, and knowledge sharing across the University of Pretoria. This platform will empower staff and students to submit, develop, and refine ideas that drive meaningful change. Currently in development, the IMS will support collaborative experimentation and capability-building across the institution. A change management and awareness campaign will follow to encourage participation, leading up to the official launch of the system.

Information Hub
Overview

A UP-grown platform for transdisciplinary research: the Information Hub is a cutting-edge cloud-based platform designed to solve the complex challenges faced by research communities, providing integrated solutions for data management and collaboration across diverse disciplines. With the goal to: 1) effortlessly gather data from diverse sources, including research datasets, field observations, and external systems; 2) centralise data management with integrated tools to track progress, streamline project workflows, and ensure data integrity; 3) facilitate real-time collaboration among multidisciplinary teams, with features that enable task assignment, progress tracking, and communication. 4) share datasets and findings with stakeholders across various disciplines and organizations, ensuring transparency and easy access; 5) seamlessly integrate diverse datasets, providing a unified view of information for more holistic insights and cross-domain analysis.
